There is less one month to go until the deadline for signatures (12 September). In the entire European Union over 500 associations taking part in the initiative have increased activities and grown louder. Even though we are not up to date on the results of the campaign in Italy and in the rest of Europe, we think gathering signatures raised relevant awareness amongst people who in other circumstances would not have been interested in soil. Aside from its pre-determined aims, the ECI managed to bring 500 different associations together towards a common objective. We must not lose all this. After September 12 we could all start working together to achieve a European perspective on soil, territory and landscape protection.
